Arrogate Assigned 126 Pounds for TVG San Diego 'Cap Saturday

Juddmonte Farm’s brilliant Arrogate, richest horse in North American racing history with earnings of $17,084,600 and the top-ranked runner in the world, has been assigned topweight of 126 pounds by Del Mar Racing Secretary David Jerkens for Saturday’s 76th running of the Grade II $300,000 TVG San Diego Handicap.

The four-year-old son of Unbridled’s Song is a winner of seven straight races after finishing third in his career debut, including the $6 million Breeders’ Cup Classic, the $12 million Pegasus World Cup and $10 million Dubai World Cup in his most recent appearance, March 25.

Arrogate is followed in the weights by four stablemates from the powerhouse stable of trainer Bob Baffert – Mor Spirit, 122; Collected, 121; Cupid, 121, and Cat Burglar, 118. Others receiving weights were: Accelerate, 117; Calculator, 116; Donworth, 116; Win the Space, 116; Dalmore, 115; El Huerfano, 115; Soi Phet, 115; Lindo Amor, 114, and Sorry Erik, 109.

Entries will be taken Wednesday for the mile and one-sixteenth San Diego Handicap, a prelude to Del Mar’s signature race of the season, the Grade I $1 million TVG Pacific Classic on Saturday, August 19.
