RadarRob Racing’s Brazenly under Erick Garcia made a sweeping move starting at the three-eighths pole and went on by four rivals to capture the $76,000 allowance feature Friday at Del Mar. The winner ran the mile in 1:36.83 and returned $9.60 for each $2 bet on him.
Finishing second – three and a half lengths back -- was race favorite Speed Grazy, owned by Seahawk Racing. Another three lengths behind came Cicero Farms’ Oubabe.
The winner is a 6-year-old gelding by the popular California sire Grazen. The victory was the fourth of his career and the $45,600 winner’s share of the purse pushed his bankroll to $156,510.
Brazenly is trained by Daniel Azcarate. The score was his first in nine tries during 2024, though he has had three seconds and two thirds during the year.
Racing resumes at Del Mar Saturday with a first post time of 2 p.m. The feature on the day is the Pat O’Brien Stakes featuring the star California-bred The Chosen Vron.
