Two-year-old fillies Chasing Yesterday, It’sjustanillusion and Andyoushallreceive, the one-two-three finishers, respectively, in the Anoakia Stakes at Santa Anita in mid-October, will be rematched Monday in the $100,000 Desi Arnaz Stakes, seven-furlong feature of a special Veterans Day racing program at Del Mar. Post time for the first of eight races will be 12:30 p.m.
Chasing Yesterday, full sister to 2015 Triple Crown winner American Pharoah, won the Anoakia by a game half-length as the 3-5 favorite over It’sjustanillusion, with Andyoushallreceive four and one-half lengths farther back. Also entered in the Desi Arnaz are Der Lu, fourth in the Chandelier after breaking her maiden at Del Mar and Boujie Girl, third in both the Sorrento and Del Mar Debutante last summer.
Drayden Van Dyke again has the call from trainer Bob Baffert aboard Chasing Yesterday, Flavien Prat rides It’sjustanillusion for conditioner Jerry Hollendorfer and Tiago Pereira again will ride Andyoushallreceive for trainer Brian Koriner.
Joe Talamo will pilot Der Lu, while Rafael Bejarano is listed aboard Boujie Girl.
The Desi Arnaz Stakes is carded as the second race.
