The second of two summer beer festivals – this one with a distinctive international flavor – will be held on Pacific Classic Day, Sunday, August 24, in the Seaside Concert area at Del Mar.
Over 100 different craft brews, including those from the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, Norway, Australia and Russia, will be poured throughout the afternoon, starting at noon and going forward to 5 p.m.
Those in attendance that day will hit a lovely trifecta with top-class racing on a three-stakes card highlighted by the $1-million TVG Pacific Classic, a handsome free Del Mar T-shirt (men’s and women’s available) and an opportunity to sip some of the best suds from far and wide, among them Irish Reds, Belgian Wheats and German Pilsners.
Festival goers will be able to purchase five 7-oz. samples for $18. Full-sized beers may also be bought. Admission into the Beer Fest area at the western end of the grandstand is free with standard track admission of $6.
Besides the beer, Festival fans will also have access to several gourmet food truck offerings as well as a popular DJ who will keep the proceeding popping.
The track will have a special first post time of 1 p.m. that day with gates opening at 10:30 a.m. There will be 11 races on the card with the last going off at approximately 6:30 p.m.
For a limited time, a special $20 pre-sale package will be available, which includes a racetrack Stretch Run admission ($6) and a Beer Fest wristband good for five 7-oz. samples ($18), a savings of $4. The special package can be accessed HERE.
Del Mar’s 36-day season continues through Wednesday, September 3.
