Nine Juvenile Fillies Clash Wednesday in C.T.B.A. Stakes

 

Nine California-bred two-year-old fillies, all of them winners of at least one race in their brief careers, will match strides Wednesday in the 64th running of the $100,000 C.T.B.A. Stakes at five and one-half furlongs.

A two-time winner is Kimberlea K from the barn of Hall of Fame trainer Jerry Hollendorfer. Flavien Prat rides the daughter of Indian Evening who won her first race at Golden Gate Fields and then took the Everett Nevin stakes during the Oak Tree-at-Pleasanton meeting.

Gorgeous Ginny, to be piloted by Jamie Theriot, comes into the C.T.B.A. Stakes from a second versus open company in the Landaluce at Santa Anita, beaten eight lengths by Surrender Now as the 8-5 favorite.

Others in the line-up Wednesday are Mama’s Kid, Juan Ochoa; Empress of Lov, Tyler Baze; Estherfourfourteen, Mario Gutierrez; Show I N Moe It, Evin Roman; Spiced Perfection, Joe Talamo; Meet My Kitty, Vinnie Bednar, and Family Girl, Rafael Bejarano.
