Nominations will close Friday (June 5) for Del Mar’s two premier stakes for 2-year-olds – the Grade I Del Mar Debutante for fillies and the Grade I Del Mar Futurity for all juveniles. The championship events will be renewed this season on Saturday, September 5 (Debutante) and Monday, September 7 (Futurity).

 

The nomination fee for each race is $300 with no additional or sustaining payments required. Both races are contested at seven furlongs with $300,000 purses.

 

Nominations for the juvenile headliners can be downloaded on-line at the Del Mar Horsemens' Dashboard. The forms can be filled out and FAXed back to the Del Mar racing office (858-794-1049), or they can be e-mailed back to Del Mar at nominations@dmtc.com

 

For those missing the nominations date, there is a supplemental fee of $10,000 available for each race up until time of entry.

 

Last year’s Debutante winner was Ten Broeck Farm’s Sunset Glow, while the Futurity winner was Zayat Stables’ American Pharoah.
