UMBERTO RISPOLI (Formidable Man, winner) – “It went good today. I’ve done well in this race before (this is his third win in it) and things went well today. He broke well; we got a little squeezed after that, but not too bad. Then we went outside and he had room to run and it was all good after that. Good for the horse, good for Mr. Warren (owner W.K. Warren).”

MICHAEL MCCARTHY (Formidable Man, winner) – “He was a little bit farther back than I thought he would be but he was rolling there in the last quarter mile. I wasn’t crazy with what went on the first half mile. Obviously he was excited. He’s already a winner at a mile and an eighth so it (running in the Del Mar Derby) is something we’ll have to think about.”
