UMBERTO RISPOLI (Ag Bullet, winner) – “We (he and trainer Richard Baltas) talked and tried to figure out the best distance for this filly. This was good today. The trick with her is to get her to relax. She was up front right away, but she was relaxed. Then when I called on her, she went. She’s a nice one and I’m happy we could win this one for Richie. I love it here at Del Mar. I like the turf course a lot. (He’s won five races on it the first two days.) I know this place has a lot of history; it’s such a beautiful place. It reminds me some of a place I used to ride in Italy. Livorno. Just like here, you could go across the street there and swim. I used to do that. I do like Del Mar.”
RICHARD BALTAS (Ag Bullet, winner) – “I really think that she’s relaxing more now. Down the backside her ears were up and when she was coming around to the quarter pole her ears were up and she was flipping them back and forth. I thought, yeah, she was waiting for him to call on her and she answered the question. She was running away from them here and she got it all her own way. I was just glad she kicked home.”
