There were two perfect tickets in Del Mar’s Pick Six Thursday and each was worth a whopping $118,604.60.
With a carryover of $56,415 from Wednesday, $338,435 was wagered Thursday in the Pick Six for a total pool of $394,850.
The feature race, a six-furlong starter allowance sprint, was won by 8-5 favored All Run, piloted by Mario Gutierrez. All Run, a gelded son of Flower Alley, tallied by three lengths and paid $5.40. Swiss Cheese was second and Gold Treasure third.
All Run, owned by Durwood Ashcroft and trained by Richard Baltas, ran the distance in 1:09.97 for his second victory in eleven starts.
Joe Talamo was the day’s riding star, booting in three winners. He won the opener aboard Ike Walker at $3.20, followed up with a victory in the third on City State at $7 and completed his triple with a win on Freedom Hill at $20.20 in the fifth.
Talamo’s three-bagger increased his total for the season to 24 and moved him into second place behind leading rider Rafael Bejarano’s 30 victories. Tyler Baze won a single race Thursday and is third in the standings with 22 wins.
Trainer Bob Baffert, whose Triple Crown champion American Pharoah runs in the $1.6 million Travers Stakes Saturday at Saratoga, N.Y., sent out two winners, Jade Princess at $9.20 in the second and Midnight Edition at $20 in the eighth.
Thursday’s attendance was 7,085.
