A Pick Six bettor cashed in for $603,613 at Del Mar Wednesday as the lone correct ticket holder in the exotic bet that requires picking the last six winners on the day’s race card.
The ticket was sold at Meadowlands racetrack in East Rutherford, NJ. It cost $3,888.
The unidentified player hit the major portion of the day’s Pick Six pool, which was worth $133,675. But by being the only ticket holder with all numbers correct he also earned the track’s total “Jackpot” pool, a side pot that had risen to $469,938 over the past nine racing days. The combination of the two pools combined for the $603,613.80 total.
There was only one favorite in the run that went from Race 3 to Race 8 on the Del Mar card. There were four double-digit payoff winners.
The sequence went like this: Race 3 -- #1 Bombardeo ($5.80); Race 4 -- #6 Deal With It Dude ($16.80); Race 5 -- #4 Kenriya ($17.80); Race 6 -- #8 Miss Remembering ($20.20); Race 7 -- #5 Show It N Moe It ($12.20), and Race 8 -- #8 Pistol Packin Rose ($7.60).
Racing resumes at Del Mar Thursday at 2 p.m.
