The gray 6-year-old mare Wishtheyallcouldbe outran eight rival distaffers Thursday at Del Mar to capture the featured allowance race on the afternoon’s card, pulling clear by nearly five lengths at the finish of the six-furlong dash for California-bred fillies and mares.
The 6-year-old daughter of Grazen covered the distance in 1:10.24 to earn her sixth victory in her 24th lifetime start. Her winner’s share of $25,800 from the $78,000 purse pushed her career earnings mark to $277,640.
Wishtheyallcouldbe is currently trained by veteran Hector Palm and was ridden by Antonio Fresu. She was one of three victories for the rider on the afternoon. She returned $10.60 to her backers.
Finishing second was Harris Farms or Slugo Racing’s Sharp Ride, who had a length on third-place finisher Jay Em Ess Stable’s No Cap.
Racing returns to Del Mar Friday afternoon with first post for an eight-race card at 4 p.m.
