Young Pulls Away To Win The 11th Annual Del Mar Handicapping Challenge
Gary Young of Pasadena, CA, held off the competition in day two of the 2014 Del Mar Handicapping Challenge by closing strong to distance himself from the field with a final bankroll of $36,146 from a starting bankroll of $4,500.
Young receives $50,000 for 1st Place plus an entry to the Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge in November worth an additional $10,000 for a total winning take of more than $96,146. Dustin Morre from Washington, Utah, finished second with $14,047 and receives an additional $25,000 in prizes for 2nd place.
A total of ten spots to the $2,000,000 National Handicapping Championship were earned. 2nd place through 5th also receive a $2,500 credit towards the Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge.
